DuckDuckGo’s “No AI” search page is suddenly getting a lot more attention.
After Google’s latest AI search push, visits to DuckDuckGo’s AI-free search experience reportedly more than tripled. The page disables AI-generated answers and other AI search features by default, giving users a more traditional search experience focused on links and results.
DuckDuckGo is also making the option easier to access through browser extensions, while earlier reports showed increased downloads following Google’s AI search rollout.
And honestly, the signal is pretty clear.
Some people love AI summaries because they save time and provide quick answers. Others would rather see the original sources and decide for themselves.
The interesting part is that this may not be an argument about AI at all.
