A small pro-Palestinian protest encampment in front of the main library of the University of Houston lasted about five hours today before UH Police, aided by officers from Texas Southern University, came in and tore down the tents.  The encampment went up around 4am and by 9am it was down. Student then locked arms and chanted “they want us silent, we will unite” as they walked toward the administrative Ezekiel W. Cullen Building.  Reina, the media representative for the group who didn’t give her last name, said UH police “forcibly” moved protesters at the encampment. “What is on a public university is a free speech zone. [Officers] physically move them off after they had destroyed everything around them. And they pushed a student down to the ground and shoved him to the floor and handcuffed him and then dragged him away,” Reina said.
