Meet the new tiger beetle discovered and named after Houston—Eunota houstoniana. Researchers with Rice University and Sam Houston State University discovered a new tiger beetle species in and around Houston. The species was once synonymous with common tiger beetles, but a team of researchers discovered Eunota houstoniana had different physical and genetic characteristics from other common species.
