Emma and Liam were again the most popular names for babies born in Houston in 2023. Liam was the city's top name for newborn boys for the fifth consecutive year, according to the Houston Health Department, which said Emma was the city's most popular girls name for the fourth year in a row. Data from its Bureau of Vital Statistics show there were more than 60,000 births in Houston in 2023, down about 4,000 from 2022.
