Oak Ridge High School in Conroe ISD have high hopes for its 9,626 square-foot mum. The War Eagles displayed its enormous homecoming mum outside of Woodforest Bank Stadium at Friday night's game where people gathered to admire and take pictures of it. As she stands below the ribbon-tangled mum, Ashley Wilson, a teacher at the school and one of the organizers, said the land surveyor recorded the structure's size earlier that day. She believes the piece, made by her students, has what it takes to beat the world record for largest mum. Arlington Independent School District holds that record now, according to Guinness World Record. That district’s 119-foot mum is flowing with sparkly pink ribbons and white boas. Crafted in an effort to spread awareness of breast cancer, the structure took the title of biggest mum in 2021.
