32-year-old Michael Devon Combs escaped his leg shackles yesterday and left the courtroom after police left him unattended to respond to a fight that broke out in another courtroom where Frank DeLeon Jr. pleaded guilty to murdering his former girlfriend, Diamond Alvarez. Combs had formerly been accused of domestic abuse and last year was charged for assaulting his girlfriend, records show. Combs violated his bond conditions and was accused of turning off his GPS monitor. He was last seen fleeing the courthouse around 10 a.m. yesterday. Police are encouraging anyone with information of his whereabouts to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers of Houston.
