Ryde is picking up steam—figuratively—in Houston’s Third Ward community. The eco-friendly shuttle service is offering free lifts in the community as part of a months-long pilot program. The services started June 19 and is scheduled to continue through October 6, during which time anyone in the area can use it to get to places such as stores, pharmacies or to connect with public transportation options in the area. Jesse Landry, the co-founder of Ryde, is no stranger to the stares the vehicle attracts. In a matter of an hour, three people asked or took pictures of the vehicle. He hopes to expand the program to other parts of the city. 🎥: Daisy Espinoza (multimedia.daisy) / Houston Public Media #ryde #transportationservices #thirdward #electricvehicles #cityofhouston
