The corpse flower at the #houstonmuseumofnaturalscience, named“Meg,” is near the end of its bloom. This smelly sighting happens once every several years. Some experts say it may take a corpse flower 8 to 10 years to bloom. Once Meg made its blooming period evident to staff, they moved Meg from the greenhouse into the Crockrell Butterfly Center for guests to visit. It finally bloomed Tuesday night giving off a pungent smell similar to that of a corpse.
