The City of Houston is breaking ground on a new interactive arts museum today in the Fifth Ward area. Meow Wolf is a forty-two million dollar entertainment venue that will feature multi-media art installations, art gallery spaces, restaurants and retail shops just northeast of downtown. Fifth Ward is one of Houston’s designated cultural arts districts and District B Council Member Tarsha Jackson says its bringing opportunities to her district.
“The good thing about this is that the artist actually create the installation, and really excited about the jobs it’s going to be bringing,” she said.
Meow Wolf is expected create over one-hundred full-time jobs, with plans to open in 2024. This will be the fifth Meow Wolf museum in the U.S.
