This year's June and July were the hottest Houston has ever seen. Meteorologist Eric Berger from spacecityweather predicts the record-setting heat trend will stop this month.
But August is typically when hurricane season intensifies. Five years ago this August, rainfall during Hurricane Harvey flooded a significant portion of the Houston region.
"August is still pretty miserable. We can't expect it to be nice," Berger said.
