"When we were kids I thought Spanish was this language you sang in and English was the language you spoke in." -Linda Ronstadt
When Linda Ronstadt was at the top of the pop and rock charts, she chose to record an album of songs harkening back to her Mexican roots. Her Spanish-language mariachi album, Canciones de Mi Padre, was an immediate success when released in 1987. To this day, the album and her choice to record it at the height of her career, inspires artists to trust their instincts and put their culture at the forefront of their art.
A Tribute to Linda Ronstadt at The Soraya is now streaming on the PBS Video app.
