The Houston-built Nova-C Lander is set to make history as the first commercial craft to safely land on the Moon. The spacecraft, weighing close to 1,500 pounds, will be launched via a SpaceX rocket in November and conduct two weeks of research on the Moon's surface. Among the many things the lander will study are the plumes of debris created when landing softly on its surface. The mission will also feature a unique moment when the lander takes a "celestial selfie" during its final descent.
