Due to extreme heat and drought conditions, Katy and Galveston have implemented water usage restrictions and a burn ban, respectively. Galveston County’s Office of Emergency Management warns residents to be cautious of accidental fires and to clean their yards of shrubs and leaves.   While this isn't the worst drought Houston has seen, it is worsening as dry conditions continue.
