SUMMER 2026 IS ABOUT TO BE LIT‼️👀🔥🏊
The NCC is opening TWO new swimming locations along the Ottawa River this summer, giving residents a chance to cool off right in the heart of the capital.
One dock will be located at the new East Wharf near the Rideau Canal Locks and Major’s Hill Park, while the second will open behind the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau.
Both locations will feature unsupervised deep-water swimming areas with a minimum depth of four metres and incredible views overlooking Parliament Hill.
The East Wharf location is expected to open by mid-June, while the Museum of History dock is expected to open around July 1.
The Ottawa-side dock will also feature a lap lane, lifejacket rentals, and a food vendor serving items like ice cream, lemonade, and sandwiches. The Gatineau-side location will include a floating island, Muskoka chairs, and access for non-motorized watercraft.
According to the NCC, more than ONE MILLION visits were recorded at its waterfront ...
