On the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, Brian Tierney shares an incredible story from his time as publisher of The Philadelphia Inquirer—when Bono visited the newsroom after receiving the Liberty Medal in Philadelphia. Tierney explains how doing his homework, showing genuine appreciation for Bono’s work in Africa, and extending a thoughtful invitation led to a memorable three-hour visit. Bono toured the newsroom, sang opera in the lobby, shared stories in Tierney’s office, and later sent a handwritten note thanking him for the experience. A powerful reminder from Brian Tierney: kindness goes a long way. #sportstechvc #sports #seventysixcapital #sportsleadershipshow #bono #u2 #sportsleadership #sportsbiz #waynekimmel #chadstender
