scotia.place and cedistrictyyc have been designed to deliver inclusive, barrier-free experiences for everyone. Some of the many accessible features and supporting infrastructure being integrated across Scotia Place and The C + E District include:
- Seamless street-level access: 14 Ave S.E. (between 5A St and Stampede Tr S.E.) is being raised by 2 metres (6.5 feet) to create seamless, barrier-free connections between Scotia Place, the surrounding plazas and the broader C+E District ā enhancing accessibility, the pedestrian experience and multi-modal movement.
- Service animal relief areas: Two dedicated spaces ā one indoors and one outdoors.
- Sensory-friendly quiet rooms: Calm, quiet spaces throughout the building to provide a place to reset and reduce sensory overload.
- Inclusive sport design: Both the Esso Community Arena and main facility are designed to support adaptive sport, including sledge hockey.
