TBT 📸📸📸 Back in 2021 I reached out about shooting the Men’s Final Four as a freelance photographer and was told there was no more room for photographers. Before the conversation ended, I mentioned I was from New Orleans and was told to reach back out the following year when the Final Four came to the city. A year later I did exactly that and he kept his word. I was blessed with credentials and became the only Black female photographing courtside at the Men’s Final Four in New Orleans during Coach K’s final run and Kansas winning the national championship. That experience taught me a lot. Don’t ever be afraid to reach out. A yes or no can change your life. Do the research, find the people connected to the opportunity, and put yourself out there. Sometimes one email is all it takes.
