Before he was “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, he was a kid learning to play the bagpipes. Piper started playing at a young age and carried that passion with him wherever he went. When he got the chance to wrestle as a teenager, he showed up with his bagpipes and played his way to the ring. The promoter introduced him as “Roddy the Piper” and the name stuck for the rest of his life. What began as a childhood hobby became one of the most recognizable entrances and identities in wrestling history.
