"Dialogue is the only possible path between civilizations."
Speaking at the World Conference of Classical Studies in Athens, Amphilochios Papathomas, Professor of Ancient Greek Philology and Papyrology at the University of Athens, stressed the urgent need for dialogue between North and South, East and West.
The alternative is conflict, war, and destruction, said the professor, stressing that in the 21st century, the war can never be restrained in a region. It will be a destructive factor for the humanity.
He highlighted China’s long tradition of peaceful coexistence with its neighbors and noted that both China and Greece have strong historical credentials for fostering intercultural dialogue.
