The UN warned Gaza's solid waste crisis is posing an immediate public health threat, as temporary dump sites remain located near areas where displaced people are living. ⁣ ⁣ UN Sanitation partners have moved about 100,000 cubic meters of waste in three months from Gaza's Firas Market to a newly identified dump site in Abu Jarad.⁣ ⁣ However, the UN said the new site cannot be fully developed or effectively used until geotextiles, specialized fabrics needed for landfill work, are brought into Gaza. ⁣ ⁣ Those materials have only recently been approved and are now in procurement.
