Meet Wendy Ward, the Wildfire County Coordinator for Kern County 👋👋 Since 2021, #WildfireCountyCoordinators, powered by a partnership between cafiresafe and CAL FIRE, have been increasing community wildfire resilience by planning and advancing prevention, preparedness, mitigation, and recovery projects. For Wendy, CAL FIRE outreach materials have played a key role in helping educate both youth and adults about wildfire preparedness. Through the Wildfire County Coordinator program, she’s used Ready, Set, Go materials in classrooms across rural communities, helping students learn about evacuation and preparedness, and encouraging them to bring those conversations home 🏫🏫🏫🏫 That foundation has helped expand outreach even further.
