It’s time to say farewell to this iconic Canadian company 🇨🇦 ‌ The Hudson’s Bay Company has long been a part of Canadian history. It was founded by fur traders in 1670, making it Canada’s oldest company. ‌ Despite its illustrious history, The Bay has been suffering from financial struggles for some time, including reduced consumer spending, trade tensions between the U.S. and Canada, and a post-pandemic decrease in downtown store traffic. ‌ When news surfaced of the company’s potential demise, it triggered an uptick in sales, particularly of their iconic HBC stripe merchandise.
