Baylor is always involved in wild finishes 😳 In the thrilling conclusion of the 2021 Big 12 Championship Game on December 4 at AT&T Stadium, No. 9 Baylor held on for a 21-16 victory over No. 5 Oklahoma State. After building a 21-6 lead by halftime with three touchdown passes from Blake Shapen, the Bears’ offense went cold in the second half while the Cowboys mounted a comeback with a touchdown and two field goals. With the game on the line in the final seconds, Oklahoma State drove to the Baylor 1-yard line facing 4th-and-goal. Running back Dezmon Jackson took a handoff and dove desperately toward the pylon, but Baylor’s defense—led by a touchdown-saving tackle from safety Jairon McVea—stonewalled him inches short of the end zone, preserving the win, clinching Baylor’s first Big 12 title since 2014, and eliminating the Cowboys from College Football Playoff contention.
