Health Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPIs) affect more than 2.5 million Americans annually, yet are highly preventable.
As a junior nursing student, Olivia was set on making a change, earning an opportunity to work with a team of nurses at Bergan Mercy on hospital audits and literature reviews. Now, she’s a HAPI Champion at the ICU, aiding in education and cross-department collaboration.
Her impact is now seeing a wider reach, having recently published in the Journal of Nursing Care Quality.
