Most spearfishers focus on going deeper or staying longer underwater. But often, the biggest improvement comes from understanding fish behavior and using the environment to your advantage. In this video, I use a simple ambush technique: ✅ Choose the right rock. ✅ Keep the sun in front of you whenever possible. ✅ Stay hidden in the shadow. ✅ Remain completely relaxed and still. ✅ Let the fish come to you. ✅ Move only when they have passed and are less focused on your position. ✅ Use the rock as cover while approaching for the shot. Many species are much more cautious when approaching head-on, but once they pass, they often become less aware of your movements. Remember: successful spearfishing is rarely about chasing fish.
