It’s the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum on the Whitefish Point Light Station north of Paradise, MI will be holding two memorial ceremonies on Nov. 10, 2025. This museum includes several buildings that share the perils of maritime transport on the Great Lakes and honor the victims and survivors of shipwrecks. Notably, the museum holds artifacts and the bell from the Edmund Fitzgerald. There are artifacts and stories from many shipwrecks, a film about the Edmund Fitzgerald and a historical representation of the lighthouse keeper’s quarters at the Whitefish Point Light Station.
