Anthony Head, best known for playing beloved mentor Rupert Giles on #BuffyTheVampireSlayer, has died at 72 due to pneumonia, according to his family, who said he "passed away peacefully." "It has been, and forever will be, an honour and a privilege to be his daughters, and to have witnessed firsthand the impact both he and his work have had on so many," Head's children, Emily and Daisy, said in a joint statement. The news comes just months after 'Buffy' costar Nicholas Brendon (Xander) died at 54 on March 20, and a year after Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy's sister Dawn) died at 39 on Feb. 26, 2025. Head also recently starred on 'Ted Lasso' as Rupert Mannion, the manipulative former owner of AFC Richmond and ex-husband of Hannah Waddingham's Rebecca.
