Welcome our newest River Hawks! 🦅💙❤️ Five peregrine falcon chicks hatched in early May in the nest box atop Fox Hall, continuing a UMass Lowell tradition that began in 2007. Since then, 54 chicks have been raised at the site, giving the campus community a front-row seat to one of nature's most remarkable comeback stories. Recently, biologists from the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife joined UMass Lowell staff and volunteers to band the chicks. The bands help researchers track and monitor peregrine falcon populations across the region.
