Huskie Women’s Soccer alumna Kayla Ahenakew is a proud Nehiyaw Iskewew, entrepreneur, athlete, community leader and advocate for holistic wellness through movement.
Hailing from Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation, Kayla grew up in North Battleford and later Saskatoon.
In addition to her time with the Huskies, she has competed in the Saskatchewan First Nations Summer and Winter Games, NAIG (North American Indigenous Games), as well as with the MSC Peoria women’s pro-am soccer team.
She is also the founder of miyomovement - an Indigenous-owned and operated brand rooted in the healing power of movement and the Plains Cree term miyo pimatisiwin – “living the good life”.
