Artist and Ottumwa native Isaac Campbell has made a name for himself in the world of wheat pasting, using his art to bring attention to worthy causes. With the help of volunteers and a large brush, isaacampbell.art spreads a paste made of flour, sugar, and water to a spot on the side of a building. Then they arrange and smooth a piece of a printed photo over the paste before he covers the image with a layer of paste. With the addition of each photo section, like the fitting of a piece in a jigsaw puzzle, a completed image or mural emerges. Des Moines Register columnist Rachelle Chase spoke with Campbell about advocacy and the power of wheat pasting. Tap the link in our bio for more on this story. #Ottumwa #Iowa #wheatpaste #advocacy
