Just a few days ago, JoJo and Spartacus were hours away from being loaded onto a slaughter truck bound for Mexico. Both are blind Belgian horses. Both were considered disposable. But because of one incredible supporter who stepped in and said “yes,” their story changed forever. Yesterday, after a long journey from Texas, they arrived safely at the rescue. Watching them settle in has already brought tears to my eyes. Their bond is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. They navigate the world together, leaning on one another for comfort, confidence, and safety. Though they cannot see, they never walk alone. Their names were chosen carefully. JoJo, after Joan of Arc, and Spartacus—two symbols of courage, resilience, and strength. Names worthy of everything they have already overcome. Rescue never stops amazing me.
