One Small Rule That Immediately Expands Basketball IQ
gerard_hillier has some suggestions to build 🏀 IQ faster. Examples include: same player can’t start the action two times in a row. The same ball handler can’t initiate back-to-back possessions. Players have to rotate positions. We alternate sides of the floor. Post players spend time on the perimeter. Perimeter players work inside. We also manipulate the size of the playing space to force new problems and new solutions.
Why does this matter?
Because good coaching is not just about running drills. It’s about designing learning. If players always operate in the same role, from the same spot, on the same side, they don’t have to adapt. And if they don’t have to adapt, they don’t grow.
