Scene Queen, Download Festival 2026 LIVE REVIEW: Pink, glitter, sequins and twerking might not be the first things that come to mind when you think of Download Festival, but that’s what’s kickstarting the weekend for thousands of festival goers. And, there’s certainly plenty of them packed in front of the Apex Stage, ready to experience some Bimbocore craziness. Strutting out to a speaker-obliterating remix of Aqua’s ‘Barbie Girl’ with a quick flip of her hair, it’s instantly clear just how much being on Donington’s biggest stage means to Scene Queen, and it’s a moment that is fully deserved. With her family having flown over especially for the occasion, it’s hard not to laugh knowing that her nearest and dearest are watching as she rips through the hoedown-fuelled hilarity of ‘MILF’ and the wickedly violent brilliance of ‘Pink Rover’, but she proudly owns every second of that silliness with a grin spreading from cheek to cheek.
