The $30K - $60K Breakdown:
$30,000: 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance
The Reality: Prices have jumped recently, making HW4 tough to find under $30K. If you go this route, hunt for a post-January 2022 build for the AMD Ryzen chip, or ideally a post-September 2022 build to get the updated comfort suspension.
$40,000: 2024 or Newer Tesla Model 3 Long Range
The Reality: No build date caveats here. You get HW4 standard, a much quieter interior, and real-world range that actually tends to outperform the EPA numbers.
$50,000: 2022 Tesla Model S
The Reality: You get massive performance for the price of a new BMW 3 Series, but you likely won't find HW4 in this bracket. Look for builds after February 2022 for the updated matrix headlights, or April 2022 if you want the tilting screen.
$60,000: 2022 or Newer Tesla Model X
The Reality: There is a major budget trade-off here...
