You won’t believe how day 2 went…🇵🇪 Today we hiked up to the glacial lake we’d been aiming for the day before. And then followed an enormous climb up to 5000m for our first pass. This was a brutal climb. I was still getting used to the altitude and I had to take regular breathing breaks to catch my breath. Reaching the pass was a huge achievement and we were blessed with incredible mountains views on the other side. The descent. That was another story. Crazy loose rocks were the terrain we began to scramble down, followed by a ridiculously steep hill of tussock and rock. This terrain was new to me. I couldn’t see the group beneath my feet as the tussocks came up to above my waist. I got a little scared I can’t lie. Tears were shed. But we made it down to the valley and on the hunt for a camp spot. And I had the perfect place in mind… It did involve another brutal hike up.
