José Fernández was one of the brightest young stars in Major League Baseball during his time with the Miami Marlins. Born in Cuba, Fernández overcame an incredibly difficult journey to the United States before becoming a dominant Major League pitcher. He quickly became a fan favorite in Miami as he won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2013 and earning two All-Star selections before the age of 25.
