Yesterday marked 14 years of sobriety. This last year has been incredible. The forward motion and fast pace of life can truly be a blessing when you recognize where the strength to keep going comes from. Through every victory, challenge, setback, and breakthrough, I know there is only one reason for the life I have today: God. Every year I come on here and share another year without alcohol. I usually follow it with all the amazing things that happened over the previous 12 months. But if I’m being transparent, it was never meant to be a “look at me,” “look what I’ve done,” or “look what I have” kind of post. The reason I share is much simpler. If you, or someone you love, is struggling under the grip of alcohol or substance abuse, I want you to know there is hope. Freedom is possible. Recovery is possible.
