It was a dream come true for many to see these two sides square up in New York. When it comes to Brazil, they’ve always found a way to turn everywhere they go into a party, but this one had even deeper meaning. Dating back decades, Brazil and the New York soccer community have always had a deep bond. Staring out at the sold-out crowd, it was impossible not to remember how the great Pelé once used to dazzle crowds at the old Giants Stadium back in the ‘70s. As for Morocco, their community in NYC has always been a staple, and they’ve become a pillar in the soccer scene over time. Most recently in 2022, they put a smile on everyone’s faces when they gradually took over Steinway Street as that World Cup wore on. Ever since then, we always hoped they’d get to play a game at MetLife for this tournament.
