A standoff in Midland, Texas, is over and the suspected gunman behind a mass shooting that injured 11 people and killed another is dead, according to the city's mayor. Midland Police confirmed they were called to a shooting near the 4600 block of West Wall Street and that officers reported hearing gunfire coming from the building, and that they worked quickly to secure and clear the area. Midland Mayor Lori Blong posted on social media at about 11:30 a.m. that "the active shooter situation has ended and the shooter is confirmed deceased."
