Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications will offer a new AI and Emerging Media minor starting in the fall semester, according to a Thursday release. Newhouse joins the iSchool, ECS and Maxwell as SU’s fourth school to introduce an AI program.⁠ ⁠ The 18-credit minor aims to teach students generative tools and data strategies, giving students a chance to become more “AI literate,” according to Newhouse’s website. The four required courses are geared toward efficient use of AI, specifically in communications fields.⁠ ⁠ “The Newhouse School has a responsibility to prepare students not only to use these tools, but to lead with creativity, judgment and integrity in an evolving communications landscape,” Newhouse Dean Mark Lodato said in a release.⁠ ⁠ Click the link in our bio to learn more.
