Alfredo Jr. is a treasured blessing to his family and the inspiration behind a special-needs ministry that is changing Guatemala. Alfredo and Irene founded Down Guatemala—which later became Tebow Down Guatemala—after tirelessly searching for resources and support for their son Alfredo Jr., who has Down syndrome, and finding little to none. The Lord put it on their hearts to do something about it — not only for Alfredo Jr., but for other children and families living with disability. In radical faith and obedience, they sold their dream home and possessions to build what didn't exist. Today, Tebow Down Guatemala (downguatemala) serves 600+ children with intellectual disabilities across six campuses in Guatemala through schooling, therapies, and wraparound support. "When the world told us, 'I'm sorry,' God told us, 'I trust you. There is a purpose.'" - Alfredo Sr.
