The Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space kicked off its 69th session today in Vienna! 🚀 We welcomed 6️⃣ new Member States: Côte d'Ivoire🇨🇮, the Gambia🇬🇲, Honduras🇭🇳, the Maldives🇲🇻, Malta🇲🇹 and Zimbabwe🇿🇼, bringing total membership to 110 States alongside requests from The Bahamas🇧🇸, Kyrgyzstan🇰🇬, Serbia🇷🇸 and Uganda🇺🇬. 🤝Applications to observe were also received from AstroAccess, AstroAid Foundation, Center for Advocacy and Global Growth (CAGG), Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, Chilean Space Association (ACHIDE), Cosmic Footprint Society, and Latin American Association of Air and Space Law (ALADA). 🔥Key highlights from today: 📢UNOOSA Director Aarti Holla-Maini said: “The Committee continues to make tangible progress on space resources, nuclear power sources, planetary defence, space situational awareness, information-sharing, and lunar coordination.
