A Bullhead City cold case victim from 1989 has finally been identified after nearly 40 years. Police say the young woman once known as “Castleberry Kate” is Sonya Alice Langan. Her remains were found in a vacant lot on Castleberry Lane in 1989, but investigators were never able to identify her until forensic genealogy testing helped develop a match in late 2025. Police say Sonya had never been reported missing because her family believed she left home in 1982. Her homicide case remains open, and Bullhead City police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives.
