Phoenix’s light rail has had its fair share of close calls… and this was one of the wildest. 🚆😳 Last September, a semi-truck attempted to cross the tracks near 18th Street and Washington when it was struck by a Valley Metro light rail train. Security footage captured the impact, with sparks and flames visible as the collision happened. The train was able to come to a stop, and fortunately no passengers were seriously hurt. The truck driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. With Valley Metro continuing to expand across the Valley, incidents like this are a reminder of how important it is to pay attention around rail crossings.
