Carson Hocevar said he understood Bubba Wallace's criticism after their on-track contact and his involvement in the multi-car pileup, admitting he was racing aggressively and at times trying to gain two positions when he should have settled for one. Despite scoring a career-best finish of fifth at his home track, Hocevar called Michigan a painful missed opportunity, saying the loss will "sting" because he believed he had a car capable of winning.
