October 1962. Astronaut Wally Schirra strapped his personal OMEGA Speedmaster CK 2998 to his wrist aboard the Mercury-Atlas 8 mission. It became the first OMEGA in space. The Speedmaster would go on to be the only watch selected by NASA for its manned missions. The First OMEGA in Space draws on that original, with steel case, black dial, and a black aluminium bezel carrying the legendary tachymeter scale and the emblematic “Dot Over Ninety”.
