I heard about Operation Red Wings when it first happened 20 years ago. A devastating loss of US military heroes. Particularly the sacrifice of Lt Michael P Murphy. Then with the 2013 movie “Lone Survivor”, everybody knew who he was as well the rest of his team. It was a privilege to honor “Murph The Protector” as well as Michael’s father Daniel Murphy, a veteran and Purple Heart recipient, and the rest of his family at our military appreciation night New York Islanders game.
