Happy World Cup Day! ✨🏆✨
We are kicking off today with one of our soccer themed textiles!
This wax resist textile - a highly prized type for the subtle random qualities such as cracks and misalignments - commemorates the first-time participation of the Indomitable Lions, the Cameroon national soccer team, in the FIFA World Cup, held in Spain in 1982. Cameroon qualified for its first FIFA World Cup in 1982. “Mondial” was often associated with player Roger Milla, the first African player to become an international star having played 3 World Cups for the Cameroon national team.
