Then with two out in the bottom of the ninth, he lined one just over the left-field wall against Chase Petty for a walk-off shot in the Padres' 5-4 victory over the Reds. That's the way this season of high expectations has gone for the Reds since at least the end of April. This was their fourth walk-off loss of the season, first since losing three in a row in Chicago the first week of May, when this six-week stretch of angst, injuries and ugly began. This one sent the Reds to a fourth consecutive series loss. They haven't won one since beating the Mets two of three in New York May 25-27.
