Amsterdam faces an acute housing shortage. But Dutch developer AM doesn’t want to build just another apartment complex. It’s out to bring much-needed eco-friendly housing to all sorts of species—from humans to hedgehogs. 🦔 Collaborating with architecture and design firms VenhoevenCS and DS Landschapsarchitecten, AM launched the project following the zoöp model. The basic concept? Make “the interests of nonhuman life part of organizational decision-making.” 🌱 The plan calls for transforming a former wastewater treatment plant into a complex with 82 apartments where people, plants, and animals all feel at home.
